Peter E. Smith Associates makes a North Country lake association’s 100th Anniversary a great success.

The Event

This North Country lakes association’s annual meeting in 2004 was a special one as this year was their 100th anniversary. The event was planned for August and they were expecting around 400 guests. The location was a very special one as the site was located at an estate with a huge pergola overlooking the lake.

The Requirements

The pergola encompassed an area around 60 x 300.On one side there was a 60 x 120 older tennis court and on the other side a 60 x 120 grass area with a fish pond. The Association required a dinner tent for 400 with room to dance. Also, a meeting tent, caterer’s tent, food service tent, and a registration tent.

The Solution

Peter E. Smith Associates looked at the site a year in advance to come up with a plan. We provided a 60 x 120 twin peak tent to cover the tennis court perfectly. As the tennis court was older, it had many cracks and bumps; our solution to this was to lay carpet down over the court. A professional carpet installer was brought in to heat seal all the seams to make one continuous floor. We also installed a 20 x 40 dance floor in the main tent. As this was a lobster bake and self serve buffet style dinner a 20 x 60 high peaked frame tent was used as a service tent.Attached to this tent was a 20 x 40 caterer’s work tent. The registration tent was a 15 x 15 high peaked frame tent.A 40 x 60 tent was used for the meeting prior to dinner, seating around 300.Peter E. Smith Associates also provided lighting, white padded wood chairs, tables, china, and linen to complete the package.

Peter E. Smith Associates coordinates local college graduation seating for 2000 guests.

The Event

Local college spring commencement uses a tent, stage and seats graduates, family and friends for around 2000 people. Traditionally the college has used tents to hold the event. Peter E. Smith Associates has worked with the college for a number of years coordinating and fine tuning each event.

The Requirements

The size of the stage and seating required over 12,000 square feet of space to make the event run smooth and comfortable. The stage area needs to seat 60-80 dignitaries and allow a walkway for the graduating students. The tent area needed to have an aisle for entering and fire code aisles along with seating for the graduates and guests.

The Solution

Peter E. Smith Associates provided a 100 x 140 twin peak tent (sub rented through a larger company). This design and size of this tent allowed for an 8’–10’ center aisle, graduate seating for 200 and guest seating for 1600-1800.The stage was a 3-level

24 x 60 area with handicap ramp access. Solid sidewalls were used to act as a back drop for the stage. Clear sidewalls were to be used on the remaining sides in the event of bad weather. A T-shaped carpet runner was used for the student’s procession. The stage was also carpeted to finish the job. Peter E. Smith Associates coordinated and worked diligently to ensure a successful event.

Peter E. Smith Associates makes a Wedding Day Memorable

The Event

A couple from Andover, NH was getting married and wanted to have an outdoor event. With the wedding planned for mid-August, why stay inside when the weather welcomes such a format. The location was set at the Audubon Center in Manchester, NH. This location provided a scenic backdrop that only could be taken advantage of by having a tent that allowed nature to be the walls.

The Requirements

Thought the wedding was held at a church in Bedford, NH, the reception was to be held at the location mentioned above. The number of guests attending the wedding was going to be around 120 people.   In addition, a caterer was providing the food for this event and they were going to need adequate space to perform their job. Next, what is a reception without dancing! Therefore, the DJ needed space to get setup and, of course, they needed a dance floor.

The Solution

Peter E. Smith Associates provided all the products necessary to make this day perfect. After discussing some of the details with the couple, a floor plan was draw to provide an image ofhow the site would be organized.Since this was a wedding, a table for the cake, gifts and food had to be considered. Next, in order accommodate the DJ, a Marquis was used which housed his equipment and provided him with a space to work from.Since that ground surface was grass a dance floor was required, as well. The caterer required a set of tables that were used as serving stations. And finally, seating for the guests that were attending the reception was included. See the final floor plan that encompassed all of the above.
